Medical Records


Your medical records comprise a paper record of your past medical details which we receive from your previous GP when you join the practice and the computer record that we keep of what has happened to you in our practice. We summarise the key events of your past medical history from the paper records onto the computer record. When you leave our Practice we print out the computer record, add it to your previous paper record and send it off to your new GP. Whilst you are in the Practice each member of the team (doctors, nurses, receptionists, secretary, etc.) will access, add to or amend your record as required. Within the team we treat all the information in your notes as confidential. If you are unhappy about either the content or the confidentiality of your records please discuss this with your doctor.
