Self-Referral Services

When you telephone the surgery requesting an appointment, in order to direct you to the most appropriate care, the call-handler may ask you further questions. All staff are bound by strict confidentiality.

We now have a range of options for you to book directly, these include;

Pharmacists

Please follow this link for more information regarding Community Pharmacy Consultation Service. Our local pharmacists are now able to prescribe medications, like antibiotics, for some conditions such as; skin, urine and respiratory infections.

CUES (Community Urgent Eyecare Services)

The brand new service means that high-street opticians can offer free treatment advice and management for urgent eye conditions such as a red or painful eye, foreign body, sudden change in vision, or sudden onset of flashes and floaters which may suggest retinal detachment.

Anyone, whatever age and whether registered with an optician or not, can access treatment for any new or worsening urgent eye conditions.

This is a temporary service set up as a result of concerns that many patients were not seeking treatment for eye conditions due to worries about exposing themselves to COVID-19 by visiting A&E departments or their GP.

A full list of those opticians who are offering this new service is available at https://primaryeyecare.co.uk/find-a-practice/
Please enter your postcode for the most accurate response.

Alternatively, here is a  full list of opticians in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Please note that patients with non-urgent or longstanding symptoms are not eligible for CUES.
