How to Order Repeat Prescriptions

Please note that we do not take medication requests via Patient Triage. Please use one of the following methods to order your prescription.

NHS App

By downloading the NHS App you will be able to access aspects of your medical record, such as blood test results and order your prescriptions directly. [If you are currently on the eRD system you do not need to request your regular medicines using the NHS App, just your ‘as and when’ medicines.]

SystmOnline

To sign up to SystmOnline please speak to reception, who can kindly set this up for you. Please note you will need to attend reception with a form of photo ID.

SystmOnline Login

For patients unable to utilise the NHS App or System Online please select a reorder method from the following list:-

NHS Secure Email

Email your request for medication to boxsurgery@nhs.net

Please state ‘Medication Request’ in the subject field. In your email, please include your full name, date of birth and the medication you require.

Please ensure you include the DRUG, STRENGTH and FORMULATION in your request.

Paper Request

You may use the right-hand repeat slip from the paper copy of your prescription.  Your pharmacy will be able to print this off for you when you collect your items or have these delivered if you ask them. Paper requests can be posted in the box outside of the practice or sent via the post to the surgery. If using this method of ordering, please allow extra time for your request to reach us. We also provide paper request slips that are outside of the surgery by the prescription box.

We aim to generate repeat prescriptions following receipt of your request within 48 working hours.  Please allow your dispensing pharmacy or appliance contractor up to seven days to dispense your medication.

If your request is for an item which is not listed on your current repeat list, we do not guarantee this will be issued.  In the first instance, we would advise you to book a routine GP call to review your need for the medication being requested.

Please note, it is not routine practice for us to contact you to inform you that we have issued your repeat prescription.

If you placed your order through the NHS App or System Online, this may give you the date the last issue was made.

We will endeavour to contact you if we are unable to issue your prescription – please ensure we have up to date contact information for you comprising of a mobile number, email address or landline where possible.
