Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced clinical training. They are qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat patients independently, and may also prescribe medication for a wide range of health conditions.

Practice Nurses

Our nurses have undertaken additional training in Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management. They are involved in regular reviews of patients with long-term conditions. In line with national guidelines, we review patients with heart disease every six months, and those with diabetes, asthma, and chronic lung disease annually. They also provide a wide range of services, including: Blood pressure checks, Cervical smears, Contraceptive advice, Dietary advice, Dressings, ECGs, Flu vaccinations, Removal of stitches, Tetanus immunisations, Travel vaccinations.

The Reception and Administration Team supports patients and staff by managing appointments, handling enquiries, processing prescription requests (written or online), and maintaining medical records with care and confidentiality. Working both front-of-house and behind the scenes, they help coordinate with healthcare providers and ensure systems run smoothly. Their role is essential in delivering efficient and responsive services across the practice. Please treat all staff with respect. Based between the 5 local GP practices, the physiotherapists are available for telephone consultations initially and forward on patients to the most appropriate care.
