We are experiencing increased demand for routine appointments, like other GP practices nationwide. Unfortunately, in recent years, central government funding for general practice has not kept pace with inflation or our higher workload. Despite significantly increasing our staffing- both Clinical and administrative- we have not been able to increase our capacity to the point where we can still deliver safe patient care without impacting on access times. As a result, there may be longer waits than we have historically been able to offer and we do appreciate the frustration that this causes.
All appointment requests are triaged by a GP. We do have a limited capacity for medically urgent issues on the day, but all other issues will be allocated to the next available routine appointment. We are working hard to address this, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
